The Passing of Shawn Wilkes
It was with great pain and sorrow that I learned of the death of Shawn Wilkes in a traffic accident in a snowstorm on Friday night. With some, the memory is only a name; with Shawn it was a glorious smile, a leaping catch on the football field, and a positive way of looking at life that infected everyone around him. Literacy Lunch at Newbury
Once monthly during lunch, PTO moms come to read to our students. It's a win-win situation for Newbury Elementary. The students like the pizza, chips, and drink, they like eating with some of their classmates in a different location, and they love listening to the seasonal books that the PTO moms provide.
