Newbury students in grades 4, 5, and 6 participated in the 2009 Track and Field Day on Wednesday, May 27. Each student was involved in individual as well as group events. During the morning, events included the one mile run, 50 and 100 yard dash, 880 relay, hurdles, long jump, and high jump. Staff helped officiate and run the different events. Mr. David Sterlekar, former guidance counselor, returned to his official duty of "Starter" for the running events. Mrs. Andler, physical education instructor, organized the day. PTO supplied water.
The afternoon included fun activities: the obstacle course, sack races, and tug of war.
Thank you Newbury students and staff for your participation and good sportsmanship on this special day. A good time was had by all
