New Elementary Staff
Mrs. Gingerich
August 22, 2010
Newbury Elementary is happy to introduce several new staff members.
Ms. Nodo is from Massillon, Ohio and she recently graduated from Kent State University. She is very excited to start her teaching career as a Black Knight and she looks forward to an exciting school year. She is an intervention teacher for grades 3-5.
Mr. Richardson graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Political Science and a minor in History. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Special Education from Kent State University. Besides serving as an Educational Aide in the elementary, he also serves as the Head Varsity Football Coach and Weight Room Coordinator at the high school. He has been in education since 2001 and has been coaching since 2000. Prior to coming to Newbury he served in the same capacity for the Mahoning County Educational Service Center. Since being hired by Newbury in March, he has never encountered a more dedicated group of students, parents, and administrators especially when it comes to athletics. As he begins his journey into the educational side of Newbury he believes he will find the same dedication and devotion to this outstanding district. Go Knights!
Mr. Hinkle has worked in public education for more than 30 years, 18 of which have been in supervision and administration of special education. He is a graduate of Akron University with a B.S. in education and M.S. in Educational Administration with Licenses for general and special education teaching and educational administration. As a musical keyboard enthusiast, he currently works with a church in Hiram as their principal keyboardist and pipe organist. He is married to Karen and the proud grandpa of 4 grandchildren.
Mr. Swackhamer (Mr. S.) graduated from Kent State University, where he majored in instrumental music education. He is substituting for K-6 music and band for Ms. Proctor while she is on medical leave. He did his student teaching at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, but he has also taught music in classrooms throughout northeast Ohio. He is very happy to be at Newbury, as the faculty and staff have been kind and helpful, and the students have been terrific.
Ms. Brower is finishing her teaching license for Visual Arts at Notre Dame College. For her last semester, she has the privilege of student teaching at Newbury Elementary with Mrs. Church and the K-6 students.
Welcome to all of you.
