Cinderella Ball an Enchanting Afternoon

The Newbury Elementary PTO sponsored the annual Cinderella Ball on Saturday, February 27, 2010 held at the Newbury School Cafeteria. Despite the snowy weather outside, this magical father-daughter dance was attended by 104 princesses and 79 escorts. Refreshments were scrumptious and lavish. DJ Tony Stojkoski provided the girls with many much loved dancing tunes. Each favor bag included a handmade “Keepsake” bracelet made by the PTO moms planning the event, a plastic wand and candy. A picture was taken in the castle gardens on a white park bench. Each princess received a long-stem carnation to commemorate the afternoon. Approximately 30 items were awarded in the Chinese Raffle. This year the escort prizes included an autographed Cleveland Cavaliers baseball cap donated by the Gilbert Family, a Scraper Tool Kit donated by Newbury Auto Parts, a haircut donated by Classic Cuts and two 30 minute tee times at the Golf Dome in Bainbridge.
Thank you to Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Gilbert for their tireless efforts in organizing and staffing this wonderful event. Also, many thanks to the 10 Kiwanis volunteers who helped set up on Sat. morning.
