Elementary Band Notes

On Tuesday, February 23, 2010, the Elementary Band students played during the team warm up time at the Varsity High School Basketball game. Mrs. Judy Miller, high school principal, stopped into their practice last Thursday and invited them to perform. The elementary students were excited to add this new experience to their repertoire. Even though the performance was optional, the majority of the band students decided to perform.
First I need to thank, Noah Wilson and Thomas McKale for teaching us "the cheer." All the students were able to memorize this jam tune very quickly and enjoyed playing the fun tune. Thank you Mr. Wilson for teaching it to Noah. It is nice to know that some things never go out of style.
I would like to thank Mrs. Gingerich for joining us on the flute for this performance. The joy of making music and being a part of a band does not diminish. Maybe we can encourage some of our other staff members and adults to join us the next time.
Now I would like to thank all the students for performing and the parents who made it possible. It is wonderful to see the parents and the students working together. The students said that they had a lot of fun. Thank you Mrs. Miller for the invitation.
