Newbury Elementary and Junior High Spellers met February 5th to determine a champion speller to send to the Geauga County Spelling Bee. Of the twenty 4th-8th grade representatives, Jared Bottger, seventh grader, was victorious.

Thank you to the PTO and Booster Clubs for donating $5. Borders gift certificates to all participants and dictionaries to the winner and runner up. Thank you to Mr. Fitz, junior high teacher, and Dr. Barrickman, County Educational Services gifted coordinator, for being the judges.
