Newbury Elementary: Activities

Terrific Kids Program Debuts at Newbury Elementary

by Mrs. Stefancin

This year Newbury Elementary students are part of a student recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem, and perseverance in children, thanks to Kiwanis. It is called the TERRIFIC Kids program, which stands for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive, Capable kids! Newbury Elementary students will be working this year to be recognized for achieving the school goal established in the area of positive behaviors in words, deeds, and actions. At the end of the designated time period, which is quarterly, each teacher will choose one to three students who have achieved the positive behavior goal, and Kiwanis will recognize them for their outstanding achievement with various prizes and certificates. This special recognition will deem them the title, “The TERRIFIC Kids for the Quarter.”
