Sixth Grade Graduation, June 5, 2009

Seventy 6th grade students graduated June 5, 2009, from Newbury Elementary School. Three of the students earned all As this year: Maggie Kinkopf, Jacob Brent and Mike Fenstermaker. At the graduation, Newbury High School valedictorian and salutatorian, Jenna Mansfield and Lauren Ruple spoke and reminded the students to study in junior high and high school, but also to join clubs and become the best person they can be.
The celebrations began early in the afternoon with the culminating activity to the 6th grade social studies' unit on other cultures--the International Dinner. Each student invited two guests and brought a dish originating from the selected country of their project.
