Thank you, Quota Club and PTO
by Miss Parker
Newbury Elementary has acquired three new classroom amplification systems to assist our students with hearing impairments and auditory processing disorders. This equipment was able to be purchased due to generous donations from The Quota Club of Lake County and the Newbury Elementary PTO. The amplification systems use infrared technology to amplify the teacher's voice, making it easier for students to hear and attend to the teacher's voice during instruction and while directions are being given in the classroom. Studies have shown numerous positive results when classrooms are equipped with these systems, including increased reading fluency rates and an overall increase in test scores on other measure of reading ability. A big "Thank You" to the PTO and the Quota Club of Lake County for helping us improve the learning environment for students at Newbury Elementary School!
