Elementary Arts Events During the Month of May

Middlefield Historical Society’s Spring Art Show:  You are invited to visit this free show the weekends of May 3rd – 4th and 10th – 11th from 11am until 4pm. There are over 90 two-dimensional pieces of art along with 15 sculptures on view from Newbury Elementary students.

A Night of the Arts:  May 14th from 6-6:45pm there will be an art reception in the fifth grade cluster of the intermediate building. There you will view sculptures from grades 4, 5, and 6. Immediately following the reception will be the performance of The Princess and the Pea in the auditorium. If you cannot make the reception, the sculpture show will be on view until the end of May.

Spring Carnival:  May 16th from 5-9pm in the High School Gym and Cafeteria is the PTO sponsored Carnival. Kindergarten through fourth grade artists created many images for this year’s carnival. The theme is “Under the Big Top”. While catching your breath from playing games, eating baked goods, and running the obstacle course, scan the gym for art from Newbury’s young artists!
