Can You Guess Who I Am?

by Third Grade Teachers

Do you know who the shortest President was?  James Madison.  Do you know which President served the longest?  President Franklin D. Roosevelt.  Who was the youngest elected President?  John F. Kennedy.  Did you know that President John Tyler had fourteen children?

On February 29th, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters took part in an interactive program.  Each third grader impersonated a President or First Lady of the United States.  They dressed in period costumes and told the audience interesting facts about their childhood, adult life, and presidential accomplishments.

Jacqueline Kennedy explains that her husband was the youngest man elected to the Presidency.

All of the Presidents from George Washington to George W. Bush and many of the First Ladies stood behind the Seal of the President of the United States and presented their biographies.   The audience, supplied with a numbered list and pencil, wrote  down the President's name that they thought each student depicted.  Red, white, and blue prizes were awarded to the winners.

Following the program,  a Presidential reception  was held in the lobby for the audience, Presidents, and First Ladies.
