district’s business and is not to be considered a public community
meeting. There is a time for public
participation during the meeting as indicated in the following agenda.

XI. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION - Persons who wish to
appear before the Board and have not requested placement on the agenda seven
(7) days in advance may speak to the Board concerning items for action prior to
the New Business portion of the meeting.
This public participation segment of the Board meeting shall be
controlled by the presiding officer. Any
discussion at this portion of the Board meeting cannot and shall not receive
any Board action. However, before the
Board will hear a complaint or criticism about school personnel, the complaint
must be submitted to the Treasurer, in writing, at least seven (7) days in
advance of the meeting. The employee
will receive a copy of the complaint, and the process prescribed in Board
Policy #9130, Public Complaints and Grievances, will be followed.
XII. NEW BUSINESS
A. Recommend the Board:
1. Approve Minutes of the Regular meeting of
December 12, 2011. (enclosures)
2. Approve the Financial Reports for December,
2011. (enclosures)
3. Authorize the Treasurer to request property
tax receipts in advance of the
collection period on dates approved by County Auditor .
4. Adopt the proposed tax budget for the period,
July 1, 2012 - June 30,
2013,
and approve its submission to the Geauga County Budget
Commission. (enclosures)

5. Accept
notice that there have been no instances of harassment, intimidation,
or bullying as described in ORC 3313.666 (B)(10)
in the months of September through December of the 2011-2012
school
year and that this notice has been posted on the district
website. Also
accept notice that the ORC definition of harassment,
intimidation, or
bullying
does not cover the realities of these kinds of behaviors. Five (5)
instances of harassment/bullying/intimidation during this
time period
have been reported by the elementary principal and Five (5)
instances
have been reported by the high school/jr.
high school principal and
Dean of Students. These instances fall outside the ORC
description but
are being reported in the spirit of the law’s intent.

10 Approve an agreement with Educational Funding
Group, Inc. to
perform all necessary and required services to obtain E-rate
funding for the district in fiscal 2013, 2014, and 2015 as
well as
completion of fiscal 2012 E-rate funding at a fee of 10% of
E-rate
funding, not to exceed $2,800 . (enclosure)
11 Approve an agreement with James G. Zupka, C.P.A., Inc. to audit
District
preparation of the Medicaid School Cost Report as required
by the Ohio Medicaid School Program at an estimated cost of
$2,000.
