It is my pleasure to welcome you to Newbury Elementary School, home of the Black Knights! It is our goal to have every child feel welcomed and connected. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities. There are many wonderful things going on in our school. Our dedicated staff works very hard to meet the individual needs of all students, and maintain personal connections with their families. Our teachers utilize research-based best practices and analyze academic data to determine skill levels and set goals for growth and improvement.
We truly believe that communication is the key to a successful educational experience. Together, we will continue to improve the quality of our school community and provide the best for the children of Newbury. As demands and complexities of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their potential. We believe that all of us, the school and the community, must work together in an extended family environment to insure success for all our students. We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible. Education is a partnership between the school, students, parents/guardians, and community. All children are more successful when we work as a team to achieve educational goals.
With that in mind, you are invited to be an active participant at Newbury Elementary. We encourage and welcome all families to be a member of the BKP (Black Knight Parents). Our BKP provides our students and their families with opportunities to attend social events within the school setting as well as outside of school. Funds raised through BKP help enhance the learning of our students through field trips and other educational opportunities. You are encouraged to be involved! Research on schools clearly demonstrates that parent participation in their child’s school coincides with a greater likelihood of academic success for their child.
I am honored to serve as principal of Newbury Elementary. It is a privilege to be part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth. If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me at 440.564.2282 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family!
